Chinese spelling app online

My kid has a lot of spelling tests nowadays so I thought of writing a Spelling test application. This is geared for Chinese (You can put English words but the pronouciation is by a Chinese speaker and it is case-sensitive).

Troubleshoot

1. No sound: You will need Chinese text to speech for this to work! Should work on desktops and some phones by default. Some android phones do not have Chinese text to speech so you need to install using this guide.

1. Test does not start: Use a normal browser and not a browser launched from app like Instagram!

How to use

1. Write your spelling words (up to 10) in the textboxes below.
2. Press ‘Start test’.
3. Once test starts, the words you entered will be hidden. You will then be asked to spell the words in a random order.
4. Press ‘Pronounce’ to hear the test word. Use our handwriting tool to input the Chinese word.
5. After all the test words are out, your result will be displayed.
6. You can press ‘Stop test’ at any point of time to change the spelling words and to restart the test thereafter.
